Sabe a yogur ácido.

Hi everyone!

I've been long time wanting to try kefir and today has been the day.

There's a new ecostore near my house (I'll talk about it some day) and I bought kefir there (even though you can also find it at the supermarket). It tastes like acid yogurt. It's not too bad, really, so I'm planning to get some grains. Do you know something about all this stuff?

What Wikipedia says:

Kefir grains are similar in appearance to the cauliflower but is softer and gelatinous. Is a symbiotic biotic mass combining probiotic bacteria, yeast, fats and proteins, involved in a polysaccharide matrix, called kefiran. Lactobacillus acidophilus is the bacteria and yeast Saccharomyces kefir (unicellular fungus) more common in the kefir, but varying according to regions and cultures.

So, how can we get kefir? Here you are a really cool video!

It has many beneficial properties for the organism and if you get kefir grains (usually given by others, check it online) you will have dairy free forever! (don't kill the bacterias, check out the instructions!).
I think I'll find someone to give away to me!
